I built Quick Snippets because all the other code snippets sites I had found were good but they didn't really meet my particular needs
I wanted to be able to
- have a free service which allowed me to save all the useful little snippets I come across and to store little used commands that I always forget
- be in and out of the snippets site as quickly as possible. What I mean by this is always having a tab with the site open and being able to just go to that tab and quickly get the snippet I'm after without the usual click...wait....click....wait cycle
- have a search which didn't require waiting for a remote server to respond with each search
- be able to quickly toggle the order of my snippets by most viewed, last viewed and name using keyboard shortcuts
- be able to use keyboard shortcuts for as much as possible to make it quicker to use.(I wanted to be able to have a keyboard shortcut so that you didnt need to use the mouse to cut and paste the snippet but that appears to not be allowed by the browsers, if anyone knows of any ways round this or another ingenious trick which will produce the same effect I'd like to here about it)
Although its probably a little rough around the edges I think that I've reached most of my goals, give the demo a try and let me know what you think in the comments below
